Murdoch University Dubai gears up for GETEX 2016

Murdoch University, one of Australia’s leading universities in Dubai, will showcase Australian academic excellence at the region’s premier student recruitment event from April 13 to 15, 2016. The Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) annually attracts over 35,000 students who are actively looking for higher education, professional development and training options.

‘All preparations are underway to ensure that prospective students, parents and industry are given the chance to engage and listen to Murdoch’s experienced academics and staff as they help them find a way to achieve their life goals,’ said Dan Adkins, Academic Director of Murdoch University Dubai & Chief Operating Officer of Global Institute Middle East.

‘Murdoch’s teaching pedagogy links learning to relevant real-world experience; and that makes our graduates career ready. In fact, our Alumni currently work for leading organisations such as DHL, Emirates Airline Group, Etihad Airways, GEMS Education, Al Taleem, KHDA, TECOM Investments, Mashreq Bank, Unilever, Proctor and Gamble, Ogilvy and Mather, Hill and Knowlton, IBM, Honeywell, and many more,’ he added.

As part of the University’s contribution to the wider community, free career focused seminars will be conducted on all three days as follows:

  • Wednesday April 13, 19:00 - 19:45: Information Technology Trends and Careers for the Decade Ahead by Wayne Muller, Programme Coordinator – School of Information Technology.
  • Thursday April 14, 19:00 -19:45: Media Trends and Careers for the Decade Ahead by Joseph Nalloor, Programme Coordinator School of Media.
  • Friday April 15, 19:00 -19:45: Top Career Prospects for Today’s University Students by Dan Adkins, Academic Director.

The Murdoch stand will feature on stand activities organised by the student community, and will have ample counselling space to allow for submission of applications. Future students can even register for courses at the stand and receive a 15% tuition bursary on all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes offered at the Dubai campus.
