Murdoch Lecture Series with Stephanie Lohale

Dubai, 11 October 2015

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to promote student wellbeing, Global Institute Middle East (GIMEL), Academic Infrastructure Provider to Murdoch University Dubai has invited the recently crowned Miss India Worldwide, Stephanie Lohale, to address the Murdoch Dubai students on the 12th of October. The nineteen year old is set to share her experiences at the pageant and conduct an image consultancy workshop focused on overcoming mental obstacles and enhancing self-confidence.

Aspiring to be a fashion publisher, Stephanie has sowed the first seeds towards her goal by pursuing a degree in Fashion Design in Dubai. Her artistic skills were spectacularly demonstrated in front of an astonished audience in Mumbai during the pageant’s talent round by completing a painting in just two and a half minutes. Horse riding, reading romantic novels, and writing short stories are just a few of Stephanie’s many interests.

The Murdoch Dubai students are very excited about the event as Stephanie’s journey through the pageant serves as a story of inspiration, self-confidence, and determination. Murdoch University Dubai has also invited high school girls to participate in this discussion and encouraged them to take inspiration from her experiences.

Being overwhelmed by where life has taken her so far, she emphasises giving back to society, focusing on charity, and doing the little things that count. Stephanie, while being crowned Miss India Worldwide said, “Winning the Miss India Worldwide pageant means having a voice on an international platform and the opportunity to make the kind of difference I’m sure all women would like to make at some point in their lives. It also means that I finally know for certain the path I’m on and it is shaping me into the woman I’d like to be." Her long-term goals in life are to start an NGO and travel to experience art in every country in the world.

GIMEL along with Murdoch University Dubai is proud of its association with Miss India Worldwide 2015 who will be sharing her positive outlook around campus as she interacts with university and high school students.
